- JEDDAH: King Abdulaziz University (KAU) Center for Excellence in Environmental Studies held an awareness campaign entitled “No to Plastic” at Red Sea Mall on Wednesday night.
“This awareness campaign is aimed at spreading a culture of environmental awareness among members of the society,” said Huda Abdul Latif of the center. “The damages done to the environment and wildlife in particular from plastic products needs to be told.”
Abdul Latif said the current damages done to environment and the climate change was due in part to people's continues use of plastics.
“I learned a lot from visiting the campaign place. It's very informative and I like the idea of seeing such efforts coming out of university halls and classrooms,” said Um Saleh, a mother of two.
Shoppers in the mall were given a presentation about the differences and the dangers of some of the widely used plastic materials in the market.
