- Prince Salman arrived in Berlin on an official visit to Germany at the invitation of Germany's Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Sunday.
Prince Salman is being accompanied by an official delegation including the Chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group Prince Faisal bin Salman, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“During the visit, the prince will explore ways for the growth of German investments in the Kingdom apart from discussing ways to achieve closer political relations,” said Ambassador Shobokshi, who later hosted a dinner reception in honor of Prince Salman.
He said Federal President of Germany Horst Köhler is keen to receive the prince. The German Vice Chancellor Westerwelle and Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit will also have meetings with the prince, he added.
Earlier in the day, the prince concluded his official visit to Norway. At Gardermoen Airport, Prince Salman was seen off by Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Mona Porter, Saudi Ambassador to Norway Abdul Rahman Al-Jadie, Norway's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Carl Wibye, members of the Saudi Embassy in Oslo and high-ranking Norwegian officials.
Prince Salman, who visited Norway at the invitation of Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, is being accompanied by a number of princes and senior officials.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Al-Jadie described Prince Salman’s Norwegian visit as a great success, saying it has yielded positive results. “Prince Salman’s meetings with Norway's King Harald V, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Store, centered on ways to enhance relations between the two countries in all fields,” the ambassador said.
