- JEDDAH: A one-day forum focusing on the viability of listing family businesses as public companies, especially those from Saudi Arabia, is scheduled to take place in London this month, organizers said on Tuesday.
BMG Financial Group, a leading investment banking firm in the Gulf region, said the forum would shed light on new market trends in Saudi Arabia.“This event will feature the latest capital market developments in the Kingdom, besides sharing the experiences of family businesses that have enlisted themselves as public companies,” a statement from the company said.“With the upsurge in equity markets in the Kingdom and a series of successful public offerings by family-owned businesses, this forum will explore all facets that are essential and of great value to potential offerings.”Prior to this forum, the BMG Foundation, the group’s CSR arm, will host its 14th annual GCC Polo Cup at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. This is the foundation’s flagship event and is considered one of the top social and business programs on the British-Arab annual calendar. The Queen of England and members of the Saudi royal family are expected to attend.This year’s Polo Cup will also witness the launch of BMG Foundation’s water management program in the presence of Hazem Malhas, Jordan’s minister of environment.
