Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for supporting the newspaper by settling all of its debts and financing consultancy and viability studies for its re-launch.

Prince Khaled made the comments at a reception held at his Jeddah office for the chairman and members of the committee that is re-launching the newspaper on Saturday.

Among those at the reception were Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja and Chairman of the newspaper’s board of directors Muhammad Abdu Yamani.

The committee briefed the prince on steps it has taken, such as the setting up of various teams and the selection of companies such as Ernest & Young to conduct studies and provide consultancy services on the viability of the newspaper. Yamani said the newspaper would be launched in the near future.

A bank is also to be selected to manage the newspaper’s capital subscription.
