Addressing thousands of Sena workers at the 336th anniversary of coronation of Shivaji at the historic Raigad fort in Konkan region, Uddhav said: "Shivaji’s coronation ceremony does not need any official permission from the federal government agencies. Don’t play with the sentiments of the Hindus. Henceforth the Sena would not seek any permission from the federal or state government to celebrate any function of Shivaji at all his forts in the state."

The Sena leader in his speech further said that the ASI officials had earlier refused to grant permission for the celebrations of the coronation ceremony of Shivaji, but all the followers of Shivaji gave a betting reply to the ASI.

“If you dare and try to provoke the tiger, you will get such a response. The ASI should perform their duties as that of watchmen not that of being masters. They should also never dare to again to play with the sentiments of Hindus who are Shivaji’s followers,” he said.

Following the style of his father Bal Thackeray, the supremo of Shiv Sena, Uddhav also did not miss the opportunity of spitting venom against the former Muslim rulers and the generals of the Mogul army.
