- AMMAN: Israel acknowledged to Jordan on Monday that it had seized passports of 17 activists during its bloody raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla last week and promised to hand them later to the Jordanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, a senior official said.
"As a result of prompt follow-up with the Israeli authorities, the Foreign Ministry managed to obtain a list of the seized Jordanian and other passports,” Minister of State for Media Affairs Nabil Sharif was quoted as saying by the official Petra news agency.
The passports belonged to seven Jordanians and other activists from Oman, Pakistan, Indonesia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Morocco and Algeria, according to a list handed to the Jordanian Embassy in Israel, he added.
Sharif did not say when the passports will be handed back.
