Through the direct employment program and assistance from the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), BRJ created 465 jobs for men and 203 jobs for women.

Jobs provided for young men included cashiers, security guards, auto mechanics and production worker in several companies, including Al-Hukair, Al-Sharq Electricity Company, Tadharis Najd Security Services Company, Panda Al-Aziziah and Aqwat Food Company.

For women, jobs included production-line workers, merchandisers, security guards, receptionists and kindergarten teachers in several companies, including Arabian Talents Company, Saudi Malls Company and certain private schools.

?In addition, 428 job opportunities have been created for men through the training ending with employment program in several fields, including accountants, AC technicians and lathing courses. Companies contributed to this program were Nasir Saeed Al-Hajri and Partners in Eastern Province, Arabia Talents Marketing Company in Northern Frontier Province and Al-Baik, House of Donuts and Rubaiyat in the western region. For women, job opportunities have been created after training in several fields, including makeup, marketing, nursing and cooking. Companies participated in providing training ending with employment included the French company Fredrick M, Al-Baik, Modern Girl Center. In addition, labor offices throughout the Kingdom supported this program.

?BRJ financed 571 small projects during May, whether new or existing, provided that projects should create additional job opportunities. The average interest-free loan was SR50,000. Among the projects financed were selling foodstuffs, selling cooking gas, renting boats for marine cruises, distribution of electronics products, confectionery and pastries businesses, women accessories, wedding planning and distribution of mobile phones and computers. Maximum loans reached SR200,000 with a five-year repayment period. Job opportunities in this program are supported by the HRDF.

?Based on Grameen Bank’s microfinance concept, the Productive Household program provided support to 2,459 women throughout the Kingdom in May to start their micro projects. In this program, beneficiaries receive interest-free loans from SR1,000 to SR5,000.

?In May the taxi ownership program provided 106 cars to young Saudi men under an easy installment plan.

?Through the truck ownership program, 71 trucks were provided to young Saudi men to work as drivers and use their trucks to transport goods, vegetables and equipment.

?In addition, training opportunities have been provided through Nafisa Shams Academy for Arts and Crafts, a program of BRJ, for 254 women trainees in diversified areas, including makeup, secretarial works, tailoring and fashion design. Also, jobs have been created for 74 women through the Work From Home program, which is supervised by Nafisa Shams Academy for Arts and Crafts. Through this program, approximately 2,000 prayer rugs are produced monthly and sold to Toyota and Lexus.

?Abdul Rahman Abdul Aziz Al-Fihaid, CEO at BRJ, said ALJCSP, since its inception, has successfully created more than 130,500 job opportunities till the end of May 2010. Al-Fihaid added that the driving force for this achievement was the support from governmental organizations, specifically HRDF, the Saudi Credit & Saving Bank and labor offices throughout the Kingdom, in addition to the more than 400 male and female job creation officers, as well as the successes of the beneficiaries.
