- BAGHDAD: A car bomb exploded near an Iraqi army patrol on Thursday in Baghdad, killing four people and wounding 10, an Interior Ministry source said.
Soldiers, civilians and members of the government-backed Sahwa militia of Sunni ex-insurgents were among the casualties, the source said.
The blast occurred in the mainly Sunni Amiriya district of western Baghdad.
Overall violence in Iraq has dropped sharply since the height of sectarian war in 2006-07, but bombings and shootings are still a regular occurrence.
Political uncertainty following an inconclusive March parliamentary election that has yet to yield a government is fueling tensions.
