- BURAIDAH: Promoting the culture of dialogue in Qassim province was the main topic discussed between Qassim University and King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND) at a meeting held here.
KACND Deputy Secretary Fahad Al-Sultan said the meeting is a followup to the memorandums of understanding the center signed with various public and private institutions to spread the culture of dialogues in the Saudi society.
“We signed the agreement with Qassim University in 2008,” said Al-Sultan. “It has been agreed between the two sides that the university will form a special committee to implement this partnership and present a special working paper in this regard.”
KACND Chairman Saleh Abdurrahman Al-Hussein and Khaled Al-Humoody, rector of Qassim University, signed the memorandum of understanding between the two sides to reinforce, develop and spread the culture of dialogue in society and among college students in particular.
As per the MoU, both parties will conduct training programs and workshops on dialogue to be participated in by students, teachers and youths.
Other issues that the two agreed on was cooperation between the two sides to revise, edit and translate materials related to dialogue.
KACND will embark in the near future on an international mission to open communication channels with organizations and individuals outside the Kingdom.
