- JEDDAH: Some 40 livestock pens in south Jeddah’s Al-Khomra district were bulldozed by the municipality on Saturday.
Municipal inspectors said counterfeit shampoo was also discovered, confiscated and destroyed elsewhere in southern Jeddah.
“The municipality office in received several complaints from residents in the area about foul smell emitting from near their homes,” said Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, a municipality official based in south Jeddah.
Al-Ghamdi appealed to citizens and residents to report any violations or irregularities they see in their areas to the municipality in order to find solutions.
During the inspection the municipality found and destroyed some 50 boxes of counterfeit shampoo bottles that carried forged labels of famous brands. Some 40 boxes of disinfectants past sell-by date were also found. “This is a clear deception and fraud,” Al-Ghamdi said.
