Al-Aqsa TV director Mohammed Thuraya said on Tuesday he was informed overnight of the decision by the Norsat company. He says Norsat accused the station of spreading hatred.

The company didn't immediately respond to a request from The Associated Press for comment.

Israeli critics frequently accuse Al-Aqsa of inciting hatred against Jews, especially in its children's programs.

The channel is popular with conservative Muslims for its Islamic programming, cartoons and talks shows.

Thuraya says that if their broadcasting is cut, they'll lose some 70 percent of viewers in Europe, north Africa and parts of the Gulf.
