- YANBU: The Shariah Court in Yanbu sentenced an army lieutenant colonel to two years in prison and 600 lashes for firing his gun three times at a soldier.
According to the victim, Badr Al-Zibaidi, the officer hit him with a stick following an argument. He added that the matter was, however, resolved and that he was then amazed when the officer took out his pistol and fired at him three times. Eyewitnesses, on the other hand, said the soldier refused to carry out orders and slapped the officer in the face in front of other soldiers.
They added that the officer left humiliated and took out his gun.
