This was announced by Taha Al-Ghamdi, director of the department, on Sunday while addressing meeting  at ALJ head office to condole Arshad’s death.

Arshad, 55, was a general manager at the department. He died of liver cancer. He served ALJ for 30 years and leaves behind his widow, a son and three daughters.   

Al-Ghamdi said all the staff of his department as well as Hasan Jameel, son of ALJ Chairman Abdul Lateef Jameel, will contribute funds for the construction of the well. The condolence meeting was attended by staff and senior members of ALJ besides a big number of his friends and relatives.

Arshad was a prominent member of the Pakistani community in Jeddah. He was an executive committee member of Muslim Welfare and Development Organization, a charitable group helping stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh.

Aslam Hatim, a long-time friend of Arshad and also a member of the executive committee, said Arshad’s untimely death was a big loss for his organization as also for the Pakistani expatriate community in Saudi Arabia.
