- MADINAH: Security officials in Madinah arrested a municipality employee at a checkpoint outside the city after discovering hashish and unnamed pills in his vehicle, authorities announced on Friday.
The man was not identified by name, but was said to be working at a rural center in Al-Hanakiyyah governorate.
Col. Hassain Muftah Al-Misaihli, director of operations at the department of road safety, said police set up a surprise checkpoint on the old Qassim road Thursday evening.
The suspect allegedly admitted to police ownership of the illicit substances and was handed over for prosecution.
