A rescue team was sent to the location after other students noticed the two youths were missing. The divers searched the area for about two hours before finding the bodies, which were taken to the Royal Commission Health Center in Yanbu.

Cap. Taleh Al-Shahri, head of the general affairs of the Border Guard in Madinah, warned swimmers to keep away from dangerous locations and not venture too far from shore.

The main beach in Yanbu becomes crowded with vacationers in summer.

Al-Shahri said special awareness programs were being organized for the safety of vacationers apart from deploying large numbers of Border Guard personnel at different locations along the beach.
