Several lawmakers on Tuesday called for the administration to support a bill targeting exports of gasoline and other refined petroleum products to Iran and ban US banks from doing business with foreign banks that provide financial services to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

House and Senate negotiators on Monday reached agreement on the legislation and both chambers are expected to vote on it soon. The administration generally supports the bill but wants authority to waive the sanctions for national security reasons.
