- MADRID: Spanish police were searching for bombs in the eastern region of Valencia after a caller claiming to represent the ETA Basque separatist group made a threat, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
The threat was called in to Basque newspaper Gara, where ETA has traditionally communicated bomb warnings, the government said. The caller had said four bombs had been planted in Valencia, a spokeswoman from the Interior Ministry said. El Publico newspaper said the bombs were planted on roads and railways. It initially said one had exploded but later retracted that report.
