ISPAF awards were given to the parents of International Indian School Jeddah’s (IISJ) toppers in CBSE Class X and Class XII exams. Parents of Subia Rashid, Monisa Nadeem, Fardeen Ahmed, Afroz Shahana, Lubna Amir Patel and Essam were honored during the ceremony.

ISPAF President Hassan Hassainar, who presided over the function, commended IISJ teachers and management for their efforts to achieve continuous improvement in results. However, he called for measures to retain skilled teachers by offering them better salaries.

Justice K.A. Abdul Gafoor welcomed the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system introduced by the CBSE and hoped that it would help instill social and humanitarian values among students. “We are lacking good institutes to train quality teachers,” he said.

Earlier, Noufal Palakkoth, a senior IISJ teacher, gave a presentation on the CCE system and said it would help develop the various capabilities and skills of students. “This new education system stresses thought processes rather than memorization,” he said.

A panel of experts including Sayed Masood Ahmed, principal of IISJ, Farahdunnisa, vice principal of the school for girls section, Najeeb, headmaster of boys section and Rita Sharma, headmistress for girls section answered the queries of the students on CCE. Ahmed said his school was well prepared to introduce the system. Yousuf, a Class-VIII student, said he liked the new system, adding it would encourage pupils to study regularly. Salah Karadan, chairman of IISJ managing committee, commended ISPAF for instituting the award to encourage parents. Earlier, Abdul Azeez Thankayathil, general secretary of ISPAF, welcomed the guests.
