- JEDDAH: With the endorsement of Riyadh's Court of Cassation, eight youths who robbed two expatriate taxi drivers a few month ago were sentenced to five-year jail terms and 3,000 lashes on Saturday.
Police arrested the suspects, all of them in their 20s, when two expatriates complained about five youths calling cabs in separate incidents and beating and robbing the drivers at knife-point. The other three acted as lookouts. All of the accused allegedly confessed to their crimes.
