- JEDDAH: Here’s another sorcerer story for the docket.
- The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) announced on Sunday the arrest of an African national who claimed that — for a fee, of course — he could get women to submit to the wishes of his desperate customers, magically cause divorce among couples, and even make people rich.
He could do this, he claimed, through the power of his magical talismans and black magic knick-knacks that were confiscated by the religious police when they detained him after a sting operation. Apparently the man lacks a good get-out-of-jail-free spell.
