The drama discussed major problems being faced by ignorant and uneducated women, like accepting misyar (no obligation) marriages out of fear of spinsterhood. Maisa Maghraby, the heroine of the drama who played the role of Jawaher, praised the Riyadh Municipality for its efforts to organize a number of interesting Eid programs for women in the city. Women’s dramas give female actresses a venue to prove their skills and capabilities, she added.

Abeer Ahmed, another artist who participated in “Banat Fatima” said it was her first appearance in an Eid drama program in Saudi Arabia. She said she was excited by the turnout. “Although I had participated in dramas held in Kuwait, I would say my participation in ‘Banat Fatima’ was an exceptional one. I am proud of my role in this drama,” Ahmed said.

Meanwhile, a number of interesting Eid programs were held at a stage in Suwaidi on Sunday, attracting a large number of people including women and children. A program titled “Farhat Eid” in Suwaidi has so far attracted more than 15,000 people, organizers said.
