- A video called “Obama free Humaidan” gives the impression that Obama is a person who works at a coffee shop, not the president of the world’s superpower.
It prompted me to think of another campaign on Facebook called “Obama bring me tea with naana.”
While expressing my profound respect to all Saudi youths who joined the campaign to secure the release of Humaidan, I would like to tell them that they have ignored the important fact that Mr. Obama would not be able to give an order even to the guard of the school where his daughter is studying.
With regard to Americans, Obama is just a big government employee and would not be able to exceed his constitutional limits.
Over the past several days, I have read several pleas urging President Obama to stop Rev. Terry Jones carrying out his plan to burn the Holy Qur’an. Some of them had reminded the president of his Islamic roots, being the son of a Muslim (Hussein), thinking that he would be able to send three of his bodyguards to drag the reverend and put him in jail.
These people ignored another important fact that the United States is a country of institutions that enjoy judicial freedom and gives individuals freedom of expression.
Mr. Obama would not have reached this position if he were in a country that does not respect equality and differentiate people on the basis of their race and religion. I am sure that he would not have made it if he were in a Muslim country.
About a year ago Obama’s aunt faced trial for violating immigration law and the president did not dare to intervene in the case. If he had used his “wasta” and telephoned the immigration official, the latter would have hung up on him and gone to play billiards in the nearest club, saying: “Our president is a shameless fellow.”
Remember the scandal involving former President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky? The Americans were angry with the president not because of his immoral actions but because of lying to them. Clinton then gave a speech to the nation expressing his apology for telling the lie and for his shameful acts. It helped him win their sympathy. This incident will help you understand why the Americans are leaders of this globe.
