The Middle East News Agency says the 74-year old died from asphyxia while swimming Saturday.

MENA said Sunday that doctors at a Hurghada hospital declared the man dead upon arrival.

Hurghada is a resort town about 315 miles southeast of Cairo. It is popular with European tourists.
