- JEDDAH: About 250 artists from 32 countries have expressed their desire to participate in a forum for the most famous Qur'an calligraphers to be held in Madinah early next year.
"The last date for receiving original works of the participants is Oct. 9, 2010," said Muhammad Salim Al-Aufi, secretary-general of King Fahd Qur'an Printing Complex in Madinah and chairman of the forum's organizing committee.
He commended the government's support for printing and publishing the Holy Qur'an and its translations in various languages and distributing them in various parts of the world.
