Hardly had the people of Mumbai tried to overcome the deadly Mumbai attacks of 26/11, the IM through an e-mail threatened to target  Mumbai. Following the threat, state of red alert was sounded in the port city. The e-mail from the terrorist outfit stated "Beware! We will make Mumbai bleed again."

The e-mail further stated that the IM would take revenge for the arrests of innocent Muslim youths in the German bakery blasts of Pune recently and the injustice being meted out to the Muslims in Mumbai.

"You are aware, that we execute what we promise. Therefore, if you do not change your attitude toward Muslims, then be prepared, we will carry out terror attacks in Mumbai again," the IM e-mail warned. The federal intelligence agencies were successful in intercepting this threatening e-mail.

The e-mail referred to the denial of entry to a Muslim woman wearing veil by the security staff at the King Edward Hospital (KEM) in Mumbai two days ago. "Our sister who was wearing the veil was insulted and ill-treated and denied entry in the KEM due to the orders of the Mumbai police. We have not forgotten this incident. But the memory of the people of Mumbai is very poor. Therefore, the time has now come to create bloodshed again. And the Mumbai police Commissionerate will be responsible for this bloodshed," the e-mail said.

Taking serious cognizance of the threatening e-mail the federal and state government has announced state of red alerts in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Chavan while appealing for maintaining peace and harmony when the Babri Mosque verdict is pronounced has sternly warned that stern action will be taken against those who would indulge in creating trouble and law and order situation. "We have tightened security throughout the state and have set up control rooms. We will try our utmost best to maintain peace after the verdict is announced," he said while speaking to journalists here on Monday.

In another development, in the background of the forthcoming verdict on the Babri dispute, e-mails and Short Message Services (SMS) are being sent. The federal and state governments are trying to stop the flow of this hatred-filled messages.

Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said here Monday that stern action will be taken against those sending SMS, e-mails and making anonymous phone calls. Bhujbal stated "SMS, emails and anonymous phone calls are being received by the Citizens relating to the Babri Mosque dispute in Ayodhya. This is with the intention of trying to create communal tension. Those found involved in such acts, would be dealt sternly without mercy," he added.
