Mohammad Khan, deputy head of mission of the Pakistani Embassy, extended his warm felicitations to all Saudi nationals on the occasion of their National Day. He remarked that a strategic relationship existed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and this relationship has stood the test of time on numerous occasions.

He added that there were about 1.5 million strong Pakistani workforce here who consider Saudi Arabia as their second home. He mentioned that he felt proud of the services rendered by Pakistanis in the development and progress of Saudi Arabia.

He also expressed his gratitude at the Saudi help extended to Pakistan at the time when it was needed. Citing recent examples of Saudi cooperation in the recent floods in Pakistan, he said his country would work hand in hand to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.

Al-Hameed expressed his warm feelings for Pakistan and its people. He also acknowledged with appreciation the services rendered by the Pakistani expatriates towards the development of Saudi Arabia. He also recited a poem in Arabic (with its English translation) especially written for the occasion which expressed his deep love and admiration for his motherland.

The program was compered by Choudhry Rehmat Ali, secretary general of Pakistan Writers Club,  who spoke on the significance of the day. He remarked that the Pakistani expatriates in the Kingdom hosted this program to mark the Saudi National Day as it considered it appropriate to demonstrate the country's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people. All proceedings of the program were conducted in English.
