The IOC's evaluation commission will visit Annecy from Feb. 9-12, followed by trips to Pyeongchang, South Korea, from Feb. 16-19 and Munich from March 1-4.

The panel will inspect proposed venues and facilities and meet local organizers and officials.

Before then, the bid cities must submit their detailed plans to the International Olympic Committee by Jan. 11.

The IOC will select the host city in a vote in Durban, South Africa, on July 6.
