Al-Turki, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the International Islamic Relief Organization Saudi Arabia (IIROSA), was addressing foreign diplomats based in the capital at a function hosted by IIROSA. The meeting highlighted the services rendered by the organization in 149 countries benefiting more than 88 million people.

"Such approach has achieved an exceptional outstanding success in communication and cooperation among the followers of various cults, civilizations and cultures around the world," Al-Turki said, pointing out that dialogue and conferences are organized for that purpose to bring the world community together and learn to co-exist with one another.

He said the first-ever meeting with foreign ambassadors was being held to inform them about IIROSA’s activities and services for the past 25 years and also to get their feedback in order to improve its services. A similar meeting will be held in Jeddah early next year for the heads of the foreign consulates in the Western Province.

Highlighting the organization's global services, Adnan Khalil Basha, IIROSA secretary-general, said that the activities in the Kingdom would cover both nationals and expatriates. "We need to do more inside the Kingdom, especially in taking care of the disabled and the orphans. We also want to provide medical services and send health caravans to remote areas in the country," he said.

IIROSA has sponsored more than 85,000 orphans around the world including 13,000 within the Kingdom.

Speaking on behalf of the foreign diplomats, Omar B. Diawara, ambassador of Burkina Faso and dean of the diplomatic corps, said that IIROSA is one of those organizations that extend effective consolidated activities across the continents without discrimination. For this reason, he said, "We carefully watch and take notice of the efforts by this respected organization which leaves no stones unturned to help the deserving people in the world."

While wishing the organization every success in its efforts, Diawara said that the beneficiaries in all parts of the globe are thankful to IIROSA for the assistance given to ameliorate their living conditions.

Canadian Ambassador David M. Chatterson said that this was the first time that he witnessed such a presentation. "The services rendered by this organization are really beneficial to deserving people." Such a meeting was useful to get to know the activities of the organization, he added.

Volkmar Wenzel, German ambassador described the meeting as a good opportunity for the foreign diplomats to know the services of a great organization that is dedicated to serve distressed people in the world.

Pakistan Ambassador Umar Khan Alisherzai said that the IIROSA is doing a splendid job throughout the world and Pakistan is one of the major beneficiaries. He also thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for supporting such organization that looks after the welfare of the distressed people in the world.

Ukraine Ambassador Petro Kolos said that he was deeply impressed by the IIROSA activities. "It is an organization that goes to the doorstep of the deserving people to offer its services."

"I am happy to be here to know the wonderful services rendered by the organization," Djibouti Ambassador Dya-Eddin Said Bamakhrama said.

John Davies, ambassador of South Africa, said that the organization has to be congratulated for its yeoman services. "It has a great responsibility to undertake humanitarian projects in the globe, I wish them well."
