- JEDDAH: A Saudi government spokesman on Sunday denied press reports that Saudi Arabia had expressed its happiness over a proposal to give Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki a second term.
"Saudi Arabia has not expressed its view on this matter in any form because it does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country," the spokesman said, calling the news reports as "false and fabricated."
The spokesman said the issue of selecting the prime minister is one that concerns only the Iraqi people. He wished Iraq security and stability.
