- MADINAH: A school principal at a boy’s school in a suburb of Madinah was left shocked when he discovered, while examining the records of newly admitted students, that the birth certificate of one seven-year-old said he was a girl.
He called the teacher who also said he was not aware of any girls in his class. The principal then summoned the student in question to make sure he was a boy. The mistake in fact stemmed from a birth certificate in which the boy’s gender had been incorrectly recorded.
The boy’s father told the principal he had not noticed the mistake before. The principal asked him to rectify the mistake, Al-Madinah newspaper reported.
