Police official Kumar Pandit Chetri says the van fell off the mountain gravel road Tuesday and police and soldiers helped rescue people.

One passenger jumped from the van and survived without injury. The three others who were hurt are being treated at a hospital.

The van was going to the Muktinath temple when it crashed near Dana village 125 miles (200 kilometers) west of the capital, Katmandu.

The cause of the crash was still being investigated. The mountain road was gravel with narrow and steep turns.
