The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) ended 0.4 percent lower at 6,392.02 points. The sector activity for the day was mostly negative with 3 out of 15 sectors closing with gains ranging from 0.62 percent by the Energy & Utilities sector to 1.18 percent by the Media and Publishing sector. On the other hand losing sectors ranged from 0.02 percent by the Petrochemical Industries sector to 1.11 percent losses by the Transport sector. The overall market breadth for the day was negative with 46 advancers against 79 decliners giving it an AD ratio of 0.58, the Financial Transaction House (FTH) said in its daily market commentary.

The liquidity for the day reached SR2.28 billion.

The heavyweight petrochemical stocks index ended little changed after lower-than-expected US job data strengthened the case for more fiscal stimulus and kept oil prices at a seven-week high.

The banking sector index meanwhile closed down 1 percent.

The biggest listed lender, Al-Rajhi, fell 1.3 percent and HSBC's Saudi affiliate SABB dropped 2.6 percent.
