- NEW DELHI: Bantamweight boxer Joseph Ham of Scotland was given oxygen and treated by doctors for concussion after his 14-11 loss to Sakaria Lukas of Namibia in a Commonwealth Games bout.
Ham received a flurry of punches from his opponent toward the end of the 56-kilogram contest and collapsed after speaking to reporters following the bout here Saturday.
He was treated for about 10 minutes by team medical staff.
“After being given oxygen, he was taken to the medical room here. There does not seem to be any complication, but he will be kept under observation for some time,” said an organizing committee official who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
