- RIYADH: A thirty-member Swiss delegation which arrived in the capital, Friday night, met with senior government officials to strengthen bilateral trade with the Kingdom, a senior diplomat from the country’s mission told Arab News Saturday.
“The purpose of the mission is to explore new opportunities to enhance the bilateral trade between the two countries, “ Alvaro Borghi, first secretary of the Swiss Embassy said.
The Swiss team, headed by Jean-Daniel Gerber, secretary of State of the Director of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs held discussions Saturday with Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Commerce and Industry Minister Abdullah Zainal Alireza and SAMA Vice Governor Abdulrahman Al-Hamidy.
Swiss Ambassador Peter Reinhardt was also present in the discussions.
The team is scheduled to visit Jeddah on Sunday and plans to visit the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and King Abdullah Economic City in Taif.
During the talks with the commerce minister, the two parties discussed trade and industrial relations between the two friendly countries. They dwelt on intensifying private sector participation from the two countries.
