The RCSRC was reconstituted in line with the recommendations of outgoing Council Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman.

Prince Salman, who is the council’s honorary president, expressed his appreciation for the organization’s role in making the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) a reality and executing its integrated strategies to establish a CSR culture in society, mobilizing the support of private companies for social development programs.

Prince Salman described the council as an authoritative source for CSR guidelines in the Kingdom.

Prince Sultan, who is also chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, thanked Prince Salman for the government’s support and patronage for the council’s activities, which stemmed from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s interest in civilian social establishments and his desire for all sectors to achieve greater growth. The prince also thanked all who supported the council’s activities in its previous term.

“The concept of the CSR council signifies the maturity of the private corporate sector in the Kingdom. The society is also the crowning of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s services over the past 50 years to private establishments,” Prince Sultan said.

The prince expressed his thanks to council members for their all out efforts to establish the council and the launching of its activities under an organizational structure, attracting the cooperation of various sectors.

He also wished Prince Faisal all success in his new position.

Prince Faisal is also chairman of the executive committee of Insan, the Charitable Society for the Care of Orphans in the Riyadh Region, and chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group.
