The service — titled Al-Rifadah Al-Mutanaqqilah (Mobile Help) — has been launched by Abdul Aziz Hussein, head of the Field Service Office No.2 of the Tawafa Establishment for South Asian Pilgrims.

“The idea occurred to me when I passed a bus full of pilgrims that had broken down; the pilgrims were waiting in the midday sun for help and were in a terrible condition because of the heat,” said Hussein.

“This prompted me to organize five mobile teams in vehicles carrying cold water, fruit juice and light refreshments. The teams go around looking for broken down buses with pilgrims to help,” he added.
