- JEDDAH: Police in Jeddah are currently investigating two African nationals accused of trying to embezzle a Saudi businessman by persuading him to go on a bogus treasure hunt.
The Saudi businessman received an international phone call telling him about the so-called treasure.
The caller told him that two of his associates would visit him to help.
The businessman immediately contacted Al-Safa district police and with their help set up a trap.
When the two associates from Somalia and Ivory Coast showed up, police moved in and arrested them.
The two associates admitted to police that they were trying to con the businessman out of his money.
Police warned people against such calls, saying that an international ring was trying to fool people into giving money.
