“The presidency did not issue any weather forecast that most provinces in the Kingdom would be under the grip of an unprecedented cold spell and that the central region would experience above average downpours over the next three months. These are unreliable forecasts,” PME President Prince Turki bin Nasser said.

He reiterated that only his organization was the only designated authority to issue forecasts on Saudi weather.

The prince said other global centers issuing dependable forecasts did not make any indication of an unprecedented bitter winter or heavy downpours in the Kingdom.

Speaking on PME preparations for the current Haj season, the prince said: “PME has laid down a action plan in line with the emergency plans of the Civil Defense for this Haj and has recruited a number of specialists.”
