- TAIF: A 52-year-old Saudi man was killed on Tuesday after he fell down from a high mountain in the Al-Hada area of Taif.
The man was searching for beehives to collect honey. He lost his balance and fell to his death.
According to police, the man was climbing up to a famous area called Al-Basra. He lost his balance when he was 200 meters high.
His family began to worry when he did not return and launched a search party after notifying police. A Civil Defense rescue team also assisted them.
After many hours of searching, they still could not find the man. The Civil Defense called for a helicopter to assist in the search. However, the helicopter could not find the man after five hours of searching.
More than 120 people from the area continued the search in a rugged mountain area and eventually found the man’s body after a further six hours.
The body was handed over to the Civil Defense. The man left behind a family of 16.
