In Raleigh, North Carolina, Jeff Carter had his second career hat trick, leading Philadelphia to a rout of Carolina.

Danny Briere scored two goals, Scott Hartnell had a goal and an assist, and Nikolay Zherdev and Mike Richards also scored for the Atlantic Division-leading Flyers.

They led 3-0 less than 2 minutes into the second period and cruised to their seventh win in eight games and their eighth straight over the Hurricanes.

In Boston, rookie defenseman P.K. Subban scored his first NHL regular-season goal to help Montreal defeat Boston.

Montreal's Carey Price stopped 34 shots, but at the other end Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask continued his unlucky season, losing for the fifth time in five appearances despite making 38 saves.

Brian Gionta also scored for Montreal, and Scott Gomez made it 3-1 midway through the third period. The Canadiens have won four in a row in Boston.

In Ottawa, Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault reached 300 career victories as his Canucks downed Ottawa.

Vancouver's top line produced Daniel Sedin's 10th goal 33 seconds into the game. The trio combined efforts once again, 22 seconds into the third on Alex Burrows' first goal of the season.

Ryan Kesler scored his second goal of the game 49 seconds later to put the Canucks up 4-1. Tanner Glass and Mario Bliznak also scored in Vancouver's four-goal third.

Peter Regin and Sergei Gonchar scored for Ottawa.

In St. Louis, Marcel Goc scored in the fourth round of a shootout to lift Nashville past St. Louis and snap a five-game losing streak.

Cal O'Reilly also scored in the shootout for the Predators, while O'Reilly and J.P. Dumont connected in regulation.

The Blues, who got regulation goals from Matt D'Agostini and David Backes, had been on a 12-game home winning streak.

In Atlanta, Ondrej Pavelec won for the first time since collapsing early in the season opener, making 32 saves in Atlanta's victory over Minnesota.

Pavelec collapsed in the Thrashers' opener and sustained a concussion when the back of his head hit the ice. He missed more than two weeks and lost once in regulation and twice in shootouts before beating the Wild.

Andrew Ladd and Fredrik Modin each had a goal and an assist to help the Thrashers end a three-game losing streak and snap Minnesota's winning streak at three games.

Anisimov forced a turnover in the Buffalo zone, and eventually found a loose puck in the slot for a shot past Buffalo backup goalie Jhonas Enroth.
