The prince issued the order after the Commission for Control and Investigation reported that it had noticed many dangerous shortcomings at construction sites across the Kingdom, something that could result in accidents and loss of lives and material.

The commission also observed that the contracts at several construction projects did not include clauses to arrange safety measures.

According to a knowledgeable source, the commission demanded the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Municipal Affairs take necessary steps guaranteeing the safety of road users and punish those who ignore the instructions.

The order is particularly significant as a large number of projects to build roads, underpasses, overpasses and railway lines are presently being undertaken in many parts of the Kingdom. Several accidents have also been reported at many such locations.
