- MADINAH: The lawyer of the tortured Indonesian maid Sumiati Salan Mustapa told Arab News that he met an Indonesian minister and received a brief of her case on Thursday.
“We discussed the case. I will use all legal means to preserve the rights of my client,” Saud Al-Hujaili added. “As I have been officially authorized to handle the case, I will follow up on latest developments. The suspect in the case is facing further investigation and I will attend questioning in my capacity as legal representative.” Sumiati, who was badly injured as a result of severe beatings, has been recuperating in a Madinah hospital while her sponsor and his wife are in jail.
