- I have been working in a company for almost 12 years with family status.
- I have three daughters, two of whom are over 18.
Family status applies to wives and children below 18. Although an unmarried girl must be supported by her father or guardian beyond that age, according to Shariah, your employer’s obligation ends when your girls turn 18.

Liquidation for a company is like the death of a person: If it happens, and unless it has happened through some fraud to escape obligations, the contract between it and any employee of its own is terminated. In your case, all financial relations must be finalized with your company and every employee must get all his rights for his service. According to the law, this is considered a legal termination of the employee by the company, and the employees deserve the better ESB treatment than the status of unspecified period contract, which gives a smaller ESB. Your ESB is based on half of your last month wage (LMW), which is your last monthly salary plus all other allowance. You get half of the LMW for each of the first five years and a full LMW for every year beyond that. Any uncompleted part of a year beyond that is paid proportionately. Do not resign, otherwise you will be treated as an unspecified-period-contract employee and be eligible only for one-third of the LMW for each of the first five years and two-thirds for every year after that.
