The youngster was arrested after a 40-year-old Jeddah man found his stolen wheel rims, worth SR3,500, on sale at a car shop in south Jeddah.

“When the victim went shopping for car rims in south Jeddah, he found his rims on display at a shop that specializes in car tires. He then reported the store to the police who investigated the matter,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police. The store told police that the rims had been obtained from a 17-year-old boy who had sold them for SR600. The youngster was subsequently arrested on Friday.

“The shop has also been charged with handling stolen goods. They should have asked the youngster for proof of purchase and identity,” said Al-Juaid.
