“I am honored to announce on this happy occasion the approval of the DCA board of directors to launch an endowment charity project in the name of Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman," said Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the board, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency.

Prince Sultan, who is also president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, commended Prince Salman’s pioneering role in organizing charitable activities in general and in supporting the DCA in particular.

“Prince Salman has been the driving force behind many of the DCA’s achievements and in spreading a culture of helping children with special needs,” said Prince Sultan. He added that Prince Salman still continues to offer ideas to expand the DCA, including extension of its service to more locations in various provinces.

The prince also lauded Prince Salman's efforts to bring the DCA's role to the attention of the Kingdom’s rulers, philanthropists and charities, enabling the DCA to bring under its umbrella 10 centers for children in addition to establishing a number of charity endowment projects.

The endowment involves a 12-story residential tower covering 2,500 square meters in Makkah’s Al-Naseem district. Income from the endowment will be allocated for the operation of DCA centers and its services involving 3,000 children each year.

The tower will have a 12-story residential tower comprising 90 apartments and commercial showrooms, restaurants and car parks.
