They said that the Israeli troops advanced hundreds of meters into the outskirts of Beit Hanoun refugee camp in northern Gaza, and the bulldozers accompanying the invading troops destroyed agricultural land as the soldiers combed the area.

No one was reported injured in the limited Israeli incursion.

Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades — the military wing of Islamic Jihad — announced on Monday that its fighters fired several mortar shells at the invading Israeli troops.

In a statement, the group said that the unit that carried out the mission successfully returned to its bases although Israeli aircraft flew over the area. The group stresses the right of resistance to prevent "Zionist" attacks targeting the Palestinian people.
