"This is a continuation of an agreement with the IMA (Kobe-based International Medical Alliance) in various health facilities where Saudi doctors could exchange their experiences with their Japanese counterparts," said Al-Hawasi following the signing ceremony between IMA Managing Director Koichi Tanaka and Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, undersecretary to the Ministry of Health for therapeutic medicine.

The agreement covers all hospitals in the Kingdom that function under the Ministry of Health, including Dammam's King Fahd Specialist Hospital, which specializes in organ transplants.

Saudi transplant specialists will visit Japan and update their experiences with the latest advances made in the field. The agreement will also lead to exchange of visits both by Saudi and Japanese doctors between the two countries.

"The two countries will share their experience in developing human resources, technology and research in the field of organ transplant," said Al-Hawasi.
