Hamad Al-Yami’s son was run over by a school bus while returning from school recently.

“King Abdullah has commended the noble sentiments expressed by Al-Yami by pardoning of the person involved in the death of his son,” Prince Mishaal said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Thursday.

The king had a successful back surgery in New York on Friday morning. The surgery was to stabilize several vertebrae on the spinal cord to complement the previous surgery on Nov. 24, in line with the treatment plan recommended by the medical team.
