In Dammam at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd stadium, Ittihad escaped certain defeat against Ittifaq. Ittihad was down 2-1 until the last second of the match. In the last second of the added four minutes to the match, Osama Al-Muwallad leveled the game for Ittihad from a fine header from a corner kick to bring the game to 2-2.

Paulo Jorge was first to score for Ittihad in the 55th minute. Saleh Basheer leveled the game for Ittifaq in the 71st minute. Sebastian of Ittifaq took the lead in the 84th  minute before Osama put parity back in the game in the dying minutes.

Ittihad dropped to second from first place on 27 points because of goal difference after Al-Nasr matched Ittihad’s point total after crushing Najran 6-1 in Riyadh to take over the top spot. Ittifaq slipped to third on 26 points.

The defeat pulled Najran down to 12th place on 12 points. 

Hilal blew a 2-0 lead against Al-Taawon and lost two important points after Al-Taawon managed to level the game 2-2. Hilal was two points away from securing the top place with seven points. The result froze Hilal at third place on 25 points with Al-Taawon at 11th on 13 points.

The biggest gainer of the day was Ahli which moved up to ninth from 13th place after a 3-1 triumph over Al-Hazem.

The jump in the team standings was a relief for Ahli fans who are hoping that the team continues to win to avoid the bottom ranking.

Hazem brings up the rear with only six points.
