Hamed Ahmed Farag, head of Yemen's General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (GACAM), said that the Emirati authorities recently informed the GACAM about the lifting of the suspension of cargo traffic. The ban was put in place early November following the discovery of two mail bombs that were shipped as airfreight to the US.

The UAE government took the decision following a visit by a UAE airports security team to Yemeni international airports in Sanaa, Aden, Mukalla and Seiyun. "The security team inspected the security measures in place in Yemeni airports and found them to be adequate," he said.
